All accidents due to fireworks occur as a result of carelessness, negligence and ignorance. But these can certainly be avoided by observing some very simple precautions. All of us enjoy the pleasure of light and sound but when disaster strikes the injured has to bear the pain. Do's & Don'ts & While Bursting Crackers

Do's

  1. Choose Safe Locations:
    • Do burst crackers in open, well-ventilated areas away from flammable materials and buildings.
    • Do ensure the area is free from combustible materials like dry leaves, paper, and cloth.
  2. Follow Instructions:
    • Do read and follow the instructions on the cracker packaging for proper usage.
    • Do use crackers only as intended and avoid tampering with them.
  3. Keep a Safe Distance:
    • Do maintain a safe distance from lit crackers and ensure spectators are at a safe distance, too.
    • Do ensure children and pets are kept away from the area where crackers are being burst.
  4. Use Safety Gear:
    • Do wear protective gear such as safety glasses and gloves when handling and lighting crackers.
    • Do have a first aid kit readily available in case of minor injuries.
  5. Light Crackers Safely:
    • Do use a long stick or a matchbox to light crackers to keep your hand at a safe distance.
    • Do light crackers one at a time and only when you are ready to move away to a safe distance.
  6. Dispose of Used Crackers Properly:
    • Do dispose of used or spent crackers in a safe manner, preferably by soaking them in water before disposal.
    • Do clean up the area afterward to ensure no leftover debris can cause harm.
  7. Keep Water Handy:
    • Do keep a bucket of water or a fire extinguisher nearby for emergency situations.

      • Don’t have too many people in the vicinity when bursting crackers to avoid accidents and injuries.

    Don’t leave crackers unattended once lit. Always ensure they are fully extinguished and disposed of properly.
